Chicks, Tractors and Greedy piglets!

Easter holidays have now started for most children in the UK. School holidays mean most of our usual weekly activities such as swimming and football are not on so we were keen to find something else to keep us amused!

Upton Country Park is our local park and it is literally on our doorstep. We often go there for walks or picnics in the Summer and they always organise something fun in the holidays. At the moment they have a Mini Easter Farm so we decided to pop down and take a look.

There were several activities on offer - the mini farm, crazy golf and sand art. We skipped the crazy golf (toddlers and balls - hard work!!) but headed straight over to the mini farm. There were lots of baby animals for us to see and Elliot and his friend Finley were lucky enough to cuddle a 5 day old chick! Very cute :)

They also held a guinea pig, while our other friends got up close and personal with a very lively little duckling who didn't want to sit still! We were able to look at rabbits, chickens, turkeys, lambs, guinea pigs and my favourite of all.....the piglets!!!

The piglets were so cute, they kept sticking their snouts out through the fence - Elliot said one licked him?! We were also able to buy food for 20p a pot and the greedy piggies knew exactly what was in there, they even grabbed my friend's pot when she was feeding them!

We finished off the morning by making some sand art (I'd never heard of this but it was great fun, all the mums enjoyed it more than the kids!) and having a quick climb on the tractor. I could have stayed all afternoon looking at the baby animals but our bellies were beginning to rumble and lunchtime was calling!

We had a lovely morning and I hope we get the chance to pop back before the mini farm closes at the end of the school holidays.

  1. Oh cool! A mini farm is a great idea. I'd love to get to play with chicks and ducklings. Never mind if the kids would like it!

  2. Squeeeeee - PIGLETS. Oops, sorry, did I shout that? I love piglets and we currently have 2 who are very popular with our gite guests. They then see the Daddy (known as Boris Johnson) and cannot believe how big he is.

Many thanks for adding your farm day out to #AnimalTales ... with added piglets :)
